Kari Tuomala is a founding member in the company and has been the CEO and a Member of the Board since 2009.

In 2000–2008 he was CEO for Nokian Capacitors Oy.

In 1999–2000 he was responsible for international customer support and acted in management team as the General Manager for Customer Support at Wärtsilä NSD Netherlands.

1997–1999 he was Regional Manager Customer Support Operations (CSO) of Wärtsilä NSD China, responsible for customer service for Wärtsilä’s international power plant business in the Asia Pacific region, based in Hong Kong.

1994–1997 Tuomala was Area Manager Customer Operations (CSO) of Wärtsilä Finland Oy – Power Plants and in that capacity 10/1994-3/1995 at Wärtsilä Singapore office.

Prior to that, he was IT Systems Manager of Wärtsilä Vaasa and in the Management team of Wärtsilä Factory-Vaasa diesel manufacturing unit in 1989–1994.

Rainer Antila has been the company’s CFO since 2017.

From 2012 to 2017, he was CFO of Talousruutu Oy.

From 2008 to 2012, he was CFO of Confidex Oy. and from 2000 to 2008 he was CFO and held other positions at Nokian Capacitors Oy.

In addition, he was Controller at Vaasa Engineering Oy from 1994 to 2000.

Jyri Öörni is a founding partner of the company and has held various management positions in the company since 2009.

He has been the company’s Chief Development Officer since 2015, and from 2009 to 2015, he was the company’s Development Manager.

He was also a member of the company’s Board of Directors from 2014 to 2018.

In 2005–2008, he worked as a project engineer at Nokia Capacitors Oy.

Markus Ovaskainen has been with Merus Power since 2017.

In 2017–2019, he worked on product development tasks related to electrical storage control systems and system design.

As Sales Manager, he worked in the Latin American and North American markets from 2020 to 2022 and handled tasks related to product management.

Mr. Marttala has been responsible for Merus Power’s customer financing and project development business since 2022.

Prior to joining Merus Power, in 20212–2022, he worked at the Finnish technology company KPA Unicon as CFO and Executive Vice President, during which time he developed the company’s client financing and service sales models. He also was a member of KPA Unicon’s Management Team.

In 2005–2012, he was Client Manager at Nordea, esponsible for export and project finance for the bank’s Nordic clients.

Jarkko Latonen joined Merus Power in 2023 as an Operations Manager and currently serves as the Director of Quality, Sustainability, and Product Management.

In 2022–2023, he held consulting and management roles in product information management at Roima Intelligence, and in 2002–2022, he had leadership roles in product development, product management, and quality at Labkotec Oy, where he also was a member of the Management Team. In 1998–2002, he worked at Nokia Networks as an expert in mobile network management, as a team leader, and as a product manager.

Jonna Kannosto has been the company’s Marketing Director since 2020, Communications Director since2021, and Director of IR since 2025.

In 2017–2020, she served as Marketing Director of Tamturbo Plc and as a member of the Management Team.

In 2015–2017, she held sales and marketing positions at Dekati Oy.

Annika Männistö has been working at Merus Power since 2024. She holds the position of HR Director, overseeing the company’s HR and recruitment functions.

Before joining Merus Power, Männistö held a leadership position at an IT company, where she was responsible for building and developing the organization’s HR and recruitment functions during a growth phase. She also has several years of consulting experience in recruitment and employer branding across various industries.

In addition to her academic background, she has completed certifications in personnel and workplace well-being expertise, workplace well-being coaching, and is a Certified BusinessCoach.
